1.        “Buzz For Bucks - by BQ” (Buzz For Bucks) is a promotion operated by PBSK Management Pty Ltd trading as Bamboozled Quizmasters (BQ) in conjunction with participating venues (Venue).

2.        At certain participating Venues at which a BQ event operates, BQ may offer its Buzz For Bucks promotion. Buzz For Bucks is conducted in the manner set out in these terms and conditions.

3.        The Buzz For Bucks Promotion is a game offered to patrons of the Venue who participate in an Event held at regular intervals at the Venue. The promotion operates by giving the team who wins the mid-Event game at a regular quiz (Qualifying Game) the right to play a second buzzer-based game for a cash prize (Buzzer Game).

4.        The Qualifying Game will be a game of skill determined by BQ, and may change from week to week. No prize is awarded for the Qualifying Game, only the opportunity to compete in the Buzzer Game to the exclusion of all other guests at the Event. The team who wins the Qualifying Game must nominate one team member to play the Buzzer Game on their behalf (Player Representative) and compete for a cash prize which will increase in value each week in a fixed amount determined by the Venue (Rollover Amount) until successfully claimed.

5.        The Buzzer Game is a game of skill, conducted and overseen by the BQ staff member hosting the event. The BQ host will start a digital buzzer which will immediately begin counting down from 15 seconds, and the Player Representative must attempt to stop the buzzer when the buzzer has only 1 second left on the clock (to the exact millisecond, ie 01 :00 seconds). The buzzer may be stopped by pressing the space bar or clicking a button on the BQ host’s laptop device. The Player Representative may view the device screen displaying the timer while playing the game. The Player Representative will successfully claim the prize as it stands (current as at the date played) if the Player Representative’s attempt is successful.

6.       If successfully claimed, the prize is awarded and distributed jointly for the benefit of the team who won the Qualifying Game, not the Player Representative personally. The prize pool will then reset to the minimum Rollover Amount for the next occurring Event.

7.      Participating Venues may cap the Rollover Amount at a fixed amount in its discretion. If the Rollover Amount reaches the maximum amount and the prize is not successfully claimed, the prize pool will reset to the minimum Rollover Amount for the next occurring Event.

8.       The cash prize is supplied by the Venue. Under no circumstances is BQ liable to any person or team to provide any prize of any kind, in any way associated with the Buzz For Bucks Promotion or an Event. The Venue is solely responsible for supplying the monitoring the Rollover Amount balance week to week, and for distributing the cash to the team who successfully claims a prize.

9.       No entry fee will be charged to play the Qualifying Game or the Buzzer Game. Entry is not available to BQ staff or Venue staff.

10.        Any person who directly or indirectly, alone or in association with any third party, cheats or tampers with any aspect of this competition in any way, or seeks or attempts to do the same, will be disqualified from the promotion and will not be eligible to receive or retain any prize.

11.       Subject to all applicable laws, BQ reserves the right to amend, cancel, postpone or suspend this competition where an event beyond the control of the Promoter renders BQ unable to operate the competition. Such events include but are not limited to events affecting the conduct, fairness, security or lawfulness of this competition, the cessation of BQ’s services at the Venue, or any other event beyond the control of BQ or the Venue.

12.       The promotion constitutes a trade promotion lottery jointly conducted by BQ and the Venue pursuant to section 102 of the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987. Records relating to the lottery must be maintained by the Venue for a period of twelve months and shall be made available to an authorised officer of the Gaming and Wagering Commission or a Police Officer upon request.

13.       The Buzz For Bucks Promotion may be marketed under alternate names as between participating Venues but in all instances, it is subject to these terms and conditions.
